TOM WESLEY CALLS FOR AN END TO

LAME DUCK CONGRESS, ASKS FOR NEAL’S SUPPORT

HOPEDALE, MA—Today, Tom Wesley, candidate for U.S. Congress, called on Richard Neal to respect the will of the people by co-sponsoring the End the Lame Duck Act filed by Rep. Lynn Jenkins.

H.R. 5842 would prohibit a lame duck legislative session after the general election, by adjourning the U.S. House of Representatives on the day of the general elections. With the exception of a national emergency, Congress would be prevented from meeting for legislative business. Appropriations would be subject to a continuing resolution at the level of the previous fiscal year until addressed by the new Congress.

“All indications are that the November elections will bring about a significant change of control in the US Congress. Political pundits of all stripes are predicting a large turnover in both chambers of Congress and possibly a shift in the majority in one or both.  Our legislators must be compelled to respect the will of the people and restrict themselves from passing legislation that would subvert that will.

“H.R. 5842 would prevent the lame duck Congress from pushing any agenda through after the voters have spoken at the ballot box.  I am quite concerned that there could be untold damage done to this country by these unaccountable officials.  Tax hikes, amnesty for illegal aliens, and anti-job legislation such as cap-and-trade and card check are all on the table.

“Richard Neal is obviously part of the problem in Washington.  He is an unapologetic advocate of this Congress’ failed policies. However, he can do the right thing and hold his party and his personal agenda up to the standards of our voting heritage.  If Americans want their government to go in a different direction, Congress should respect their decision and not abuse their power in the waning days of this congressional session.”

Wesley Criticizes Richard Neal For Voting To Jeopardize the Lives of American Troops

HOPEDALE – Tom Wesley, candidate for U.S. Congress in the Second District, released the following statement regarding Richard Neal’s votes last night supporting a strict withdrawal timeline for Afghanistan:

“With his votes last night supporting a strict withdrawal timeline from Afghanistan, Richard Neal sought to undermine the authority of the Commander-in-Chief to prosecute foreign policy. Veterans like myself know that this jeopardizes the lives of American troops. It is one thing to oppose our anti-terror efforts in Afghanistan, it is quite another to do so using our brave men and women as pawns. Though I am opposed to much of President Obama’s agenda, he is the Commander-in-Chief of our military. Congress must respect that fact, most especially in times of war when lives are on the line."

Has Richard Neal returned the tainted money?

Richard Neal received $4,000 from Allen Stanford, a man who stands accused of massive fraud through an elaborate Ponzi scheme.  I'd like to know if Richard Neal will do the right thing and return this ill-gotten money? No matter what he decides to do, the fact remains that Richard Neal has made an art form of accepting political donations from special interest groups and people far outside of our district.  With almost $3 million in his campaign war chest, will Neal do the right thing and return the money or further succumb to the sins of greed and gluttony.

Celebrating the Brown Victory

Today, the people of Massachusetts got to choose between two candidates with two very different agendas and they chose Scott Brown to represent them in the U.S. Senate.

Bay State voters have sent an extremely loud and clear message to Washington, D.C. that they have had enough of business as usual.

The extreme left wing ideology of Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid is too much to bear.

The tide has turned in our Commonwealth. Scott Brown did the unthinkable by winning as a Republican in Massachusetts.

Neal Flip-Flop Will Cost Jobs

I was appalled to learn that after speaking in support of tax breaks on the firms that are creating jobs right here in Massachusetts, Richard Neal chose to side with Nancy Pelosi and Democrat Party leadership in Washington and vote for this tax increase.  Congressman Neal told the Boston Globe that he was ‘obligated’ to vote for the tax increase and change his mind because he chaired the committee.
